Thank you for a wonderful stay in your Maubert apartment.  It was just like going home.  The weather was superb – no need for a coat or umbrella.  It even managed to get to 32 one day.  My croissant making lesson at La Cuisine Paris was great fun – even better than the breadmaking course I did last time.  Not only the classic croissant but also chocolate ones, raisin ones with custard, jam ones and, out of the leftovers, cinnamon scrolls.  Plenty to eat there, and plenty to take home.  I’d recommend it to anyone interested in that type of thing.  And it’s just across the river from the apartment.

I also had an interesting day venturing out to Vaux le Vicomte.  I expect you know the story of that place.  If you go at the weekend, there is a shuttle bus from the station which makes it a lot easier.  I was also looking forward to seeing the finished Fondation Louis Vuitton.  I went last year when it was still under construction and was wondering how they would be able to use the internal space.  And I see that they do it very well.  What a magnificent building.  And there was a gorgeous Pierre Bonnard exhibition at the Musee d’Orsay.

So, once again, I had a wonderful week in my favorite city, heading home each afternoon to my very comfortable apartment.  I always feel like a local entering the front door and you see tourists look and they must be thinking you are very lucky living there.  Thank you again, and the all the best.  Beverly, Earlwood, NSW

We seem to be joining the increasingly long list of guests who have now experienced and enjoyed both your apartments. Le Gourmand du Mouffetard is located in a great street with lots of community life and local colour. Now we are in your second apartment right down beside the Seine, has such easy access to Ile St Louis and the Marais, in addition to Notre Dame. The market and food shops at Place Maubert are quite extraordinary. Would you believe that two more patisseries opened just nearby in the first few weeks of January. Both had lines of customers waiting to be served. The Parisians certainly love their bread and pastries.

What a responsibility! No. 1 in the Guest Book, and happily only good things to report. The apartment has been planned and furnished with a lot of thought and it works. The finishing touches are lovely. Location superb and all the processes of getting here, faultless.

We had a lovely time and your new apartment, which is far better than we expected. So many thoughtful things make it delightful especially the little sewing kit I found to repair a torn seam in my trousers. It was good to see some basic foodstuffs left in the cupboard. We came across Kapra Hiska Cashmere shop after doing a Paris walk in the Marais, and as I recognised it from the Welcome Book in the apartment, we went in and I came out with a sweater!  Steve and Maggie, Brichgrove, NSW
