Le Gourmand du Mouffetard

Mouffetard

What our guests say

“Beyond all our expectations! What a wonderful place to totally absorb all that is French and especially Parisian.” Annie and Ian, Sydney.

“Bruce and I are at the airport after spending a wonderful week in Paris.  I just wanted to let you know we enjoyed staying in the apartment so much!  The position was wonderful, Bruce zipped out each morning for our croissants and coffee (from next door… Very good), we were so close to the Metro, the restaurants were great.  The apartment was beautifully equipped, lovely comfortable bed, and everything we needed in the bathroom and kitchen.  Altogether a wonderful comfortable home base with a wealth of information you provided.  Finally, the weather was exceptional, what more could we want!  Thank you again.” Jane and Bruce Jackson, Hawthorn, VIC, October 2015

We very much appreciated the opportunity and experience of rue Mouffetard.  The area is full of surprises as you walk, so many food shops, restaurants, and the markets in Place Monge.  My 70th birthday lunch at the Jules Verne Restaurant on the Eiffel Tower was a highlight and beautifully presented.  The memories will last forever.  Thank you again for the many suggestions.  We did the canal St Martin, which was a surprise.  Thanks also for the recommendation to eat in Lilane and for the introduction to the wine shop in rue Mouffetard.  Rosemary and Kevin, Westleigh, NSW, September 2015.

Just a note to thank you for our recent stay in your Mouffetard apartment in Paris.  We found the apartment to be well appointed, comfortable and conveniently situated making for an enjoyable stay in Paris.  We were well looked after us on arrival at the apartment well and the private airport taxi arrangement arrived promptly for a very comfortable transfer to Orly. Kind regards, Ros & Chris Baker, Eltham, VIC, September 2015

“What a great place to stay in Paris , the apartment was every bit as good as we hoped and more.  After being the tourist , food and wine critics during the day , it was so good to come “home” and enjoy the lovely welcoming apartment , in a very safe and extremely convenient location , for markets , local shops ,direct line to the opera , it was truly the best we have stayed in. Margaret even did a cooking class which started at metro Place Monge , how convenient was that? The apartment was as lovely as we envisaged, and what a great location.  With Paris being a walking city, it was a joy at the end of each day to return “home” and relax with a glass of wine on the terrace while we planned the next day’s adventure.  When we are next planning a trip to Paris, your apartment will be our first choice.  Once again a big thank you and we look forward to returning.”  Ron and Margaret, Norman Park, Queensland, June 2015

The apartment has been absolutely perfect for the type of stay we wanted to have in Paris.  We’ve managed to do all the little things such as just sitting and watching the world go by.  Thanks for having us to stay.  Jane and Brian, Sydney, NSW, June 2015

Thank you so much for sharing with us your Paris home.  I now know how hard it must be for you to say goodbye to Paris each time you return to your other home.  We have had a great time exploring some very different areas of the City, for which we had not had time on previous visits.  I must admit I was always grateful to come home to this warm and comfortable apartment at the end of a long day.  The area around Mouffetard is great for food, the market at Place Monge a treat, the best croissants, great wine and even fabulous coffee at Dose, which was not here last time.  We are already looking forward to returning again, much love.  Kerrie and Chris, Sydney, NSW, May 2015.

“We have so enjoyed our two weeks in your perfect apartment.  You have thought of everthing needed to make your guests so comfortable.  No doubt this has become your own second home.  We have been coming to Paris for years as we used to live in the UK, but we still managed to find new things to see and do.” Diane and Stanley, Mosman, NSW, May 2015.

Location, Location, Location.  Just wonderful.  Thanks for all the information in your “personal guide to Paris”.  Thanks also for the initial warm welcome and for the great bottle of French wine that greeted our arrival.  Di and Ian, Sydney, NSW, May 2015.

“Great time of course.  Great location from which to walk on different days as far as the Louvre and everything in between.  Good food available in the street and at Place Monge.  Great little restaurants from cheap to mildly expensive.  The whole area feels safe and friendly.”  John and Bev Melbourne, VIC, April 2015

We have certainly learnt a lot about Paris and the French during our stay.  We felt totally accepted by all the local shop keepers.  It was just wonderful to wander around the Pantheon and the Sorbonne area for our evening stroll.  Thank you so much.   Peter and Leslie, Sydney, NSW, February 2015.

“To top off our stay in this fabulous city we had this perfect home to return to each evening.  And the food – oh the food!  A truly delightful neighbourhood.  What a wonderful time we have had.  Thank you.”  Anne Nicholas and Jenna, Brisbane, QLD, January 2015

This, our second time in “Mouffetard” and the stay has been a delight from start to finish.  Anna and Phoebe loved the area and they have invited the guy who runs the nearby coffee shop home to Australia “for Christmas”.  The apartment offered the three of us perfect accommodation, although we only had a drink on the terrace once, due to the cool November afternoons.  Nevertheless, it is definitely to place to be.  We look forward to transferring into Maubert tomorrow, to check out the alternative location, this time down by “monumental” Paris, in contrast to the wonderful shop keepers in rue Mouffetard.  Pam Anna and Phoebe, Bowral, NSW, November 2014

“What an absolute delight it has been to stay here. A charming apartment, perfectly appointed and situated in the best location to explore Paris. Many thanks, we really have had the most wonderful holiday.” Rod and Wendy, Melbourne, VIC, October 2014

The apartment in rue Mouffetard is in a fantastic location. So many restaurants, food shops, markets in the street and the Metro is only a few minutes around the corner. It is quite a lively area, but that adds to the atmosphere. It is a fun place to be. The apartment is very comfortable, the decor charmingly French, and is extremely well appointed. The kitchen and bathroom are excellent. We are really happy staying here and will definitely recommend it to others. Wendy and Rod, Beaumaris, VIC, October 2014

“It was wonderful to be back in Paris after so many years. The apartment made it more special as it is so close to all facilities. It has a well equipped kitchen, but alas, there are so many restaurants in rue Mouffetard and beyond that we did not have a chance to cook-in. Loved the ambiance of the area and we hope to come back. Great place, thank you for having us.” George and Chrissi, Pymble, NSW, September 2014

We very much enjoyed this oasis and the location. It is such an attractive bijoux. Anne and Michael, Sydney, NSW, August 2014

“Thank you for providing a wonderful base and home whilst we were in Paris. This is our 4th visit and we had a great experience staying in rue Mouffetard. We loved the quiet and the busy times in this historic street. We were here during Bastille Day when people danced in the street to an eclectic band. We could see the flyover from the military parade and sat in front of the Pantheon to watch the fire works at the Eiffel Tower. We cooked some great meals in the wonderful kitchen, including roasting a Bresse chicken, Peter’s dream. We became very good friends with the young man in the wine shop down the street. The take-away fruit crumbles and tarts from the little shop below the apartment were excellent. Thanks to people like you we can all experience the magic pf Paris”. Glenda and Peter, Warrnambool, VIC, July 2014.

What a fine week we had in your wonderfully appointed apartment in such a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves exploring this interesting neighbourhood, with all its shops, cafes, and bistros. This was our final week of a five week holiday in France and it didn’t disappoint. Thank you and au revoir. Anne and Tom, Noosa QLD, July 2014

“Your apartment in Paris was great, it exceeded our expectations. Your manager was also wonderful with such a warm welcome. We have to say the week in Paris was the highlight of our trip. Thank you also for all your recommendations of what to do in Paris when you want to look beyond the usual tourist attractions. It was like having our personal travel guide as we plotted the daily explorations. As you mentioned the Marais is a great spot to be. We enjoyed following up the shopping suggestions that are in your Welcome Book, and of course we had to try them. It was good fun and well worth it.” Margaret and Derek, Melbourne, June 2014

It was so lovely to have a “home” in Paris, with a big bar of soap and condiments in the pantry, after several weeks of hectic touring and lots of different hotels. Rue Mouffetard is very entertaining and we have enjoyed ourselves just as much as we did when we stayed in Le Gourmand du Maubert. I have fallen in love with your beautiful curtains. Dianne and Geoff, Austinmer, NSW, June 2014

“Our two weeks in your apartment and in Paris were just fantastic. Thank you so much for the information you provided about this part of the city. We had no idea it would be so interesting and enjoyable. We found the travel books in the apartment very useful, even discovering a fabulous cafe via one of the books. It was great to see your private taxi driver waiting for us at the airport. Why would anyone travel into central Paris by any other means after a long flight? Then to be met at the apartment with a friendly smile and welcome bottle of wine. Your manager is such a treat.

“We loved the neighbourhood and certainly explored it, returning to our favourite restaurants and even to the hairdresser just up the road. I am certainly recommending your apartment to friends and family as well as further afield. We had a “Paris afternoon” last week in the aged care facility where I work. So many of the residents have been to Paris over the years, so my photos and stories brought back many memories”. Jill and Alannah, Sydney, May 2014

“What a wonderful introduction to Paris you arranged for us – a private taxi tour of the main highlights of a city that Tony had never visited before, followed by a splendid lunch. Your apartment has been wonderful. The layout and location have suited us perfectly. After our enjoyable orientation tour we have walked, climbed and talked (at times in broken French) every day of our stay. Without exception we have been greeted with politeness and a friendly smile. The sights, sounds and vibrant hum of rue Mouffetard will stay with us until the next time.

“Many thanks for having a Parisian shopping basket in the apartment for Annette’s daily ritual of “bon-jouring” to all the shop keepers as she strolled down the street like a local. She will greatly miss getting lost in MOCOCHA, one of the fabulous chocolate shops. We were able to sample most of what your street had to offer – fromage, wine, olives, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood, baguettes and pastries. How spoilt we have been with all this at our fingertips.” Annette and Tony, Wollstonecraft NSW, May 2014

We loved staying in your wonderful apartment for the past 2 weeks. We loved exploring the many markets, restaurants and shops, especially Anohki, and my birthday treat at Monet’s Garden was unforgettable. Kerry and Emily, Brighton, VIC, April 2014

“We wanted to send you a quick note as we are about to take our taxi to Gare de Lyon just to thank you so much for providing such a beautiful home to see out our time in Paris. We know we will come back and hope that we will have another opportunity to stay in your beautiful apartment. The local streets are always full of lovely people and great restaurants. We particularly felt welcomed in many where we had great food and wine. Paris is really at your feet and so easy to get around.” Kim and Mark, Drummoyne, NSW February 2014

We had such a great stay in Mouffetard and would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone. A real haven of warmth and comfort after a day of exploring Paris in the wintry weather. Paul and Jeanette, Drummoyne, NSW, January 2014

“Every day in this wonderful, exciting and vibrant part of Paris has been a treat.  The apartment has been perfect for our needs as well as comfortably accommodating our friends from Tasmania, who stayed for just a couple of days.  Our two seek stay gave us the opportunity to travel wide and far in Paris.  The metro and bus networks are amazing especially with the weekly “navigo” pass.  We have loved every minute, even the weather has been kind to us.  Thank you for making this a really memorable stay in Paris.”  Jerry and Don, Kurrajong, NSW, October 2013

We have been delighted with our stay in Paris and cannot commend you enough on the quality of the apartment.  This has really made our holiday.  Gary and Marlene, Sydney, September 2013

“The apartment was everything we hoped for and then some.  We quickly adjusted to the Parisian lifestyle, dunking our croissants on the terrace, buying food locally for dinner, when we ate at home and eating out in the restaurants recommended by many previous guests.  One was so fantastic that we returned for a second visit.  Our legs are tired but our spirits are revived.”  We’ll be back, soon I hope.  Darlene and David, Glen Iris, VIC, August 2013

We can only agree with all the other positive comments that we have read in your guest book.  The highlight was the terrace and we had nearly all our meals there.  Our French visitors were all most impressed with the neighbourhood, the decor and, above all the terrace, so rare in Paris.  Le Jardin d’Ivry, just down rue Mouffetard from the apartment proved to be a great choice of restaurant, as with the out door dining  in rue Pot de Fer.  All the shop keepers wer efriendly and most helpful with suggestions about cheese, wine, prepared meat dishes and of course the fabulous pates and terrines.    Pauline and Bill, Sydney, NSW, July 2013

Vespers at Notre Dame, a beautiful Vivaldi concert at La Chapelle, a brilliant paly at the Comedie Francais, our favourite Monets at the Orangerie, and an exhibition at the Musee d’Orsay.   A magnificent city.  We look forward to our next visit.  Jock and Jenny, July 2013

Thank you for your lovely apartment, a real “home” in Paris.  Your manager was so helpful.  Our memories of this trip are very special.  Helen and Jill, June 2013

“Thank you for a fabulous stay in Paris and an unforgetable experience that we will treasure forever.  It has been amazing to experience Paris with my daughter after not being here since 1978.  It is an excellent location for getting everywhere.  Furnishings are superb.”  Margaret and Chloe, Sydney, June 2013

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Paris.  We found the attention to detail in the apartment extraordinary – all the lovely homely touches such as the shopping basket, comments on email and recommendations on places to eat in the Welcome Book.  We will definitely return and it can’t come too quickly.”  Maureen, Caitlin and Angus, Hornsby NSW, June 2013

We arrived back to reality on Saturday night after the most wonderful week. Your apartment was perfect for what we wanted, the position couldn’t have been better. It was just marvellous being part of the buzz that happens in that area and it was an absolute feast for the eyes to wander through the food shops and markets.    We had lunch at Jules Verne in the Eiffel tower which was everything we had hoped for – I even received a candle on my dessert!!!  I really did have a memorable birthday!!!

Thank you both so much for making it all possible – the highlight really was your lovely apartment.  Alvina and Umberto, Tuscany, June 2013.

“Wonderful apartment, wonderful location, wonderful experience.  Paris est tres belle, et les Parisiennes tres tres gentiles.  Spending time in rue Mouffetard has given us some insight into the Parisians elegant lifestyle.  Thank you for the very helpful welcome to Paris guides.  They were put to good use.  A Bientot.” Keith and Jan, Sorrento, Vic, May 2013

Thank you for your lovely apartment.  A real ‘home’ in Paris.  Your manager was so helpful and kind.  Our memories of this trip are, and will be, special.  Judy, Helen and Jill, Lisarow, NSW, April 2013

“We have indeed spent the most wonderful time in Paris to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

“To be met first at the airport and then at the apartment was most welcoming, lovely to be so well taken care of. Thanks for letting us know you have the private taxi service option available. And then to discover the treasure of your apartment, fitted with everything one needs including warmth, comfort, ambience … the words of praise could continue.

“We have walked ourselves legless, trying to see and do everything in 10 days. Impossible we know, but it was fun trying. The highlight of course was our special lunch at the Jules Verne restaurant on the mid level of the Eiffel Tower – sensational – thanks for recommending it.

“A magnificent city, we look forward to our next visit. Thank you very much.” Jock and Jenny, Sydney, March 2013

As regular business travellers to Paris, we thoroughly enjoyed returning to the apartment for our third stay. The apartment is very modern and provided with all the facilities one could ask for. Relaxing ‘at home’ with a quick pasta, some olives and a bottle of wine from the shops just down the street is such a contrast to the hotel accommodation that we endured on many previous business trips to Paris over the years. No need to go out again after a long working day. Lots of space to spread out our business papers and plenty of light to work with in the evenings. The free international telephone calls and WiFi were a real bonus. The whole experience, staying in the heart of the Latin Quarter, was first class and we would highly recommend the apartment to any business or leisure traveller. Natalie and Silva, Sydney 2012.

“We had a great time and a nice stay in your wonderful apartment. which is no well located.”  Scott and Carrie, Vancouver, Canada, December 2012.

“We had the most marvellous time.  What a great location, with heaps to do and so easy to access the whole of Paris by bus, metro or on foot.  Thanks also for your great tips on “must visit” shops – we all bought shoes at Arche, even my husband who absolutely loves them.  Would you believe we actually walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower.  A huge walk but saw lots on the way and took a taxi back.   We will certainly recommend your apartment to anyone and hopefully we will be back.”, Robyn and Peter, Sydney, November, 2012

“Thank you so much for our wonderful stay in your apartment. It was a haven to return home to each evening after exploring Paris.

“Our main reason for choosing to stay in your apartment was that we had discovered rue Mouffetard on our last visit to Paris, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay there this time.  We were not disappointed. We love this street.  Some of our favourite places were the artisan boulangerie down the street, “Le Fournil de Mouffetard”; the coffee shop “Brûlerie des Ternes” (standing only, one of only two good coffee shops we have found in Paris); and the restaurant “Chez Lena et Mimile” that you recommended around the corner in rue Tournefort.

“We particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, to create delicious meals with produce bought from the local markets.  We also really loved the comfortable bed and the beautiful linen, and the washer/dryer was a godsend.  The living room was so spacious and beautifully decorated.  Being able to use the phone was wonderful, especially to phone home since not everyone back here has Skype!  Inside the apartment we were always warm and comfortable, of course.  The terrace was great, but unfortunately at that time of year (end of October, start of November) whenever it wasn’t damp out there the clear sky seemed to cause the temperature to drop, so we didn’t get to use it much.

“Thank you for your well-researched shopping tips. I already knew about Arche, but Diptyque was a lovely discovery and it’s good to know that they sell it at Myers here in the city. Pôles was also a great find.

“One unexpected delight of the apartment was being right next door to the historic bar, “Le Vieux Chêne”. At the end of each long day walking the streets of Paris it was a treat to have a cocktail before cooking dinner. We befriended many people there, who gave us travelling tips for the remainder of our journey.

“Apart from the charm of the street, it was so convenient to have the supermarket right across the road. This may seem mundane, but the last place we stayed, two years ago, it was five minutes walk away, and every evening seemed to end with the ordeal of spending half an hour visiting a very busy supermarket. This just wasn’t something that we had to worry about at all staying in your apartment.

“On our next trip to Paris we would certainly like to contact you again. Thanks for a lovely holiday. From the beginning when Frank met us to the end, we had a memorable time.”  Kim and Peter, Narrabeen NSW, November 2012.

“Wow, what an experience.   Paris is such a visual city, full of light, art and architecture, a real blast.  Thank you so much for the apartment, it really made the whole experience of being there just so much easier and enjoyable.   Your tips and recommendations were terrific – we felt like instant locals, especially in rue Mouffetard, with all the wonderful shop keepers.”  Heather and Ian, Neutral Bay NSW, November 2012.

“Thanks so much for being canny enough to have this perfect apartment, and in such a great location.  The private taxi service and the friendly  ‘meet and greet’ set the tone from the start – warm, friendly, and keen to assist.  I loved the noise and bustle.  As one of the worst tourists in the world, I can and will be recommending this gem to all and sundry.  Totally magic”.  Neva, Sydney, September 2012.

“We have been visiting Paris for more than 40 years, so it was fitting that we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here – revisiting the ‘loved’ and discovering the ‘new’.  We felt very comfortable, relaxed after a torrid time earlier in our trip.  Thank you for sharing your gem with us”.  Bronwyn and Jeff, Melbourne, August 2012.

“A really lovely apartment in a great location.  We enjoyed living in this historic, interesting and vibrant area of Paris.  The city has so much to offer and walking here is a delight”.  Curt and Nebra, Sydney NSW, July 2012.

“Loved Paris and its offerings.  Loved the produce in rue Mouffetard”.  Carol and Martin, North Sydney NSW, July 2012.

“We have so enjoyed our week in your lovely apartment.  We love the neighbourhood and have walked our feet off”.  Judy and Friends, Bellevue Hill, June 2012.

“Absolutely lovely, a quality spot, comfortable and restful, a magic respite from the joys of a wonderful Paris”  Carol, Pymble  NSW,  June 2012

“Paris in the early summer was such a wonderful experience. Mom and I really enjoyed your suggestion that we celebrate her very special birthday at the Jules Verne Restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. You were absolutely right about going for lunch so that we could see the spectacular view, especially as our table looked out towards Notre Dame. Our memories of the food and wine we savoured over those three hours will stay with us forever.” Suzanne and Miriam, Tuscon, Arizona, June 2012.

“We have had such a marvellous 10 days in the apartment that we were almost inclined to abandon the next part of our European vacation and stay on. Noel had such a great time exploring the wine and cheese shops in rue Mouffetard – the shop keepers are so friendly and welcoming, even with our almost non-existent French.

“Thank you for all your tips on “must visit” shops – we all bought shoes at your favourite shop.  Walking the streets with your personal guide to Paris in our pocket was such a bonus, you obviously know the city well and were very generous in passing on your secrets.” Pam and Noel, Southern Highlands NSW, May 2012.

“Our time at Le Gourmand du Mouffetard has been absolutely fabulous. From the moment we walked out of customs after a long flight, were met by our private taxi driver and taken straight to the front door, the arrival was seamless. Frank was so welcoming and quickly gave us an introduction to the apartment and its amenities. The bottle of French red wine that was waiting for us was a real surprise and a genuine welcome.

“You have decorated the apartment so beautifully – obviously the hand of sophisticated and experienced travellers. Everything has been done with such thoughtful consideration. The Bedroom is quiet, the large Terrace a real delight, the Living Room comfortable and airy, and best of all the Kitchen is perfect for preparing the superb produce that is so readily available in rue Mouffetard. The local bistros are also very friendly and provide such a range of tasty regional cuisines.

“One of the best aspects is the location and its proximity to Place Monge Metro Station on Line 7 or the nearby 47 Bus. We really enjoyed the speedy and efficient access straight into the main sights of Paris around Notre Dame, the Louvre, department stores and the Opera – simply perfect. The public transport in Paris is so good that we could be anywhere in the city within about 20 minutes. Your personal guide in the apartment welcome book was filled with helpful suggestions that really added to the pleasure our experiences.” Jonathan and Neil, Potts Point, NSW, May 2012

“What a fabulous apartment you have, thank you so much for sharing it with us. We felt very special to be staying there. Rue Mouffetard is such a fantastic location – our stay was far too short of course. Next time we will stay for a full two weeks. We were so fortunate that our French friends from the south west could join us for a few days” Olwyn and Terry, Brisbane, April 2012

“Rue Mouffetard – what a place to have an apartment. The food shopping is fantastic. Unfortunately 6 days were not enough to more than scratch the surface of this incredible local community. It begs another visit.” Geoff and Lee, Mosman April 2012.

“Loved every minute of our stay – one week was not enough! Definitely returning. Nice to have a home away from home and such comfort, we felt really spoilt after having travelled through Africa and Europe for three months. We were still discovering new shops in our rue Mouffetard, even after at least 20 walks up and down. A gem of a street.” Julie and Michael, Sydney, March 2012.

“We have had a great week here in Paris. The apartment is super – you must both be mad on cooking. It was wonderful to find everything you need and the apartment gave such a warm welcome when we returned after a wintry day exploring the delights of off-season Paris.” Pat and Dennis, February 2012

“Wow, what a haven to be in during the unusually cold weather over the last week of my stay – so warm and cosy. Thank you so much for the opportunity to enjoy the apartment as a break from my hectic business schedule in Europe over the last few months.” Chris, Griffith, NSW, January 2012

“Our week in Paris has been truly memorable. Your apartment is truly fantastic. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the convenience of the apartment. The welcome booklet and your recommendations were spot on. We will be sure to stay again when next we visit Paris.” Jayden and Morgan, Melbourne, Jan. 2012.

“We had such a wonderful time. I had hesitated to come in winter but it has been very special. The apartment was a home away from home and we hope to visit again. Took up your suggestions, and yes, Paris at night was pure magic.” Laura and Natalie, Bondi NSW, New Year, 2012.

“Thank you so much for all your advice and suggestions for our stay in Paris. We had a wonderful time here and your apartment was a real oasis for us.” Irene, Queens Park, NSW, Dec. 2011

“Many thanks for letting me enjoy the other side of Paris–such a fascinating area–you want for nothing in rue Mouffetard. It has been so relaxing to enjoy your beautiful apartment. Congratulations.” Robyn, Sydney, October, 2011.

“We had a wonderful week blessed with an indian summer. As a result, we enjoyed the sunshine and have ridden the hop-on-hop-off bus everywhere. Have been to Paris many times before, but apartment living certainly is the best experience. We greatly appreciated your Welcome Booklet, and all the facilities of the apartment.” Carrie, Barry and Margot, Portsea, VIC, October 2011.

“We have had the most wonderful time in your rue. No-one could actually ever explain the amazing life-force that powers Mouffetard–the sights, the smells, and the people. What an inspired choice of venue in Paris. We love it!” Peter and Carolyn, Mosman, NSW, Sept. 2011.

“Staying in the apartment has significantly added to our enjoyment of Paris. You can be very proud of your renovations. It has been a long time since we have felt so comfortable in a vacation apartment while overseas. On several occasions when we reached our ‘fatigue level’ whilst walking the sights of Paris, either Val or I would say “let’s go home”. It was a genuine reaction to what you have provided.” Leon and Val, Melbourne, Sept. 2011.

“Had the best time – so sad to leave. Thank you for such a special place. Can’t wait for the next trip! After our third stay in your apartment, we are now able to plan our business trips to Paris comfortable in the knowledge that the accommodation aspect is one less thing to worry about.” Silva and Natalie, Sydney. Sept. 2011.

“We had a wonderful holiday. A great introduction to Europe for my sister and her husband and a real change from their home in New Zealand. As a twenty-something Hannah had a fabulous time wandering around, confident enough to do her own thing during the day and joining us only when we she thought we were doing something particularly interesting. Our day-trip to London on the Eurostar was so easy and added a new dimension to our Paris vacation.” Gail, Sydney, August 2011.

“What a week we have just experienced! Paris is everything we thought it would be and your Guide to Paris that is in the apartment helped us to enjoy it even more. Your apartment is amazing–we loved how comfortable everything was, and really enjoyed some lovely hours on the terrace with a bottle of red. This week has certainly been a real Paris experience.” Helen and Rob, Forestville, NSW, August 2011.

“It is our 5th night staying in rue Mouffetard and we have retired to the tranquility of the terrace – with a bottle of excellent French red wine. As we sit under a fading blue sky we are contemplating this remarkable city and feel fortunate that we have been able to discover it once more. Rue Mouffetard has not disappointed. It has given us a taste of Paris (excuse the pun) that we have not experienced before. Le Gourmand du Mouffetard has been a most perfect spot to explore all that it has to offer. You have done a wonderful job of renovating the apartment.” Robert and Denise, Mosman NSW, August 2011.

“Rod and I had a wonderful week staying in your lovely apartment in the middle of such a vibrant quarter. This is our 4th time in Paris and we have enjoyed exploring areas that we never knew existed before. Thanks for all the information about Paris that we found in the apartment and for your advice before we arrived, it was a great help.” Yvonne and Rod, St Ives, Australia, July 2011.

“This is now our favourite part of Paris and staying in this apartment (with its very special terrace) has been wonderful. We love the style of fittings in the apartment – and hope that everyone has as much fun here and in Paris generally as we have.” Phil and Louise, Brisbane, July 2011.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment. It has been a wonderful base from which to explore the delights of Paris. Each evening we looked forward to returning to the comforts of a well thought out home. So much nicer than a hotel room. We also enjoyed exploring the street meeting some of the personalities who were unfailingly welcoming, shopping locally and then at night closing off the bustle and enjoying the quietness of the apartment. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy it.” Ingrid and Hans, Adelaide, July 2011.

“We had a wonderful stay, loved the apartment, the restaurants and the amazing food markets. What a pleasure to have a private taxi pick us up at the airport. This was our third stay in Paris and I can’t believe that we hadn’t previously come across rue Mouffetard. Loved the area, can’t wait to return.” Bruce and Sandra, Avoca NSW, June 2011.

“Many thanks for letting us enjoy your apartment. Great location. Easy walking to almost everywhere we wanted to see. One week was not enough time to see it all. Hope to return one day soon.” Duncan and Joanne, Vancouver BC Canada, June 2011.

“Thank you for providing such an ideal haven for a wonderful fortnight in Paris. After each long day, returning to the apartment in rue Mouffetard was like coming home. You have done a marvellous job with the renovations and the quality and comfort of the furnishings. We could not have been happier with the apartment and its location. Our future visits to Paris will be timed with its availability for another stay.” Wendy and Tony, Canberra ACT. May 2011

“The apartment is excellent and having such good facilities made it great fun to shop at the local markets and eat good food ‘at home’. Rue Mouffetard is such a great street, full of energy and plenty of characters among the shop keepers.” Glen and Laurie, Queensland. May 2011.

“Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in Paris. It is a wonderful place, a wonderful street. in a wonderful city. The comfortable sofa bed meant that our daughter, who now lives in London, could come over and join us for a few days, rounding out a delightful trip. I am hoping that we will be able to rent from you in the future.” Robert, Montreal, April 2011.

“We will be so very sorry to leave after 5 wonderful days in your apartment. We will be dragged kicking and screaming onto the aircraft for the flight home.” Helene and Merrilyn, Sydney, January 2011.

“We absolutely loved staying in your apartment. It is truly a ‘quartier’ that is essentially French. You have decorated the apartment beautifully. Thank you for the opportunity to stay.” Glenn and Leah, Mosman, Australia, New Year 2011.

“From the moment we entered the apartment, we were enchanted. As the photos on this site show, this is a very well appointed, comfortable three room apartment. What they don’t reveal is that it is spacious, spotlessly clean, well ventilated, and well heated. Although there’s a lift in the building, we found it easy to use the stairs as the apartment is on the first floor, with only a dozen stairs to it. The large terrace is a bonus, but we were too busy sightseeing to enjoy it.

“Double glazing shut out street noise from the lively neighbourhood, but we frequently flung open the shutters, opened the windows, and “entered” the activity on the street below. So even while we were making the most of the washing machine, preparing a meal in the excellent kitchen, or planning our next excursion, we could revel in the action just outside.

“Offering an abundance of gourmet fresh food stores plus scores of restaurants, bars, boutiques and produce markets, Rue Mouffetard entices one to remain right there. However, with a metro station only five minutes’ walk from the apartment door, and other attractions including the Pantheon, the Marais, St Germain, Jardin des Plantes and Notre Dame within easy walking distance, the apartment is very well located. We can’t recommend it highly enough and we’re telling everyone to stay at Le Gourmand du Mouffetard. We’ll be back!” Janet and Michael, Sydney, October 2010.

“As a regular business traveller to Paris, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment is very modern and provided all the facilities one could ask for.” Silva, Sydney, September 2010.

“The apartment was perfect for two old friends travelling together. We loved the location, and could walk everywhere.” Lene, Copenhagen, Denmark, October 2010.

“I adored my two weeks in this fabulous apartment. It was such a pleasure to come back to Paris after so many years, and have a real Parisian experience.” Anna, Sydney, October 2010.

“What a great place to stay! The apartment is furnished to a very high standard of finish and fittings. The kitchen had everything we could’ve wanted to make the most of the location’s amazing food. We also appreciated the welcome bottle of wine!” David and Teagan, Geneva, Switzerland. October, 2010.

“After a long business day, it was wonderful to adjourn to the apartment, sit outside on the terrace with a relaxing glass or two of wine and some olives bought from the local market. What a great place to stay—loved it!” Susan, Sydney, November, 2010.

“What a blast! The Place Monge market would have to be one of the best outdoor markets we’ve ever come across in Paris. Also had great fun trying lots of local restaurants and cafes. We didn’t want to leave.” John and Kerrie, Central Coast, NSW, November, 2010.
